Sarah shared her fascinating journey with Tim McCarthy. From working in radio, spending 13 years in the Reserve Army, then moving into the business world, to now working in Hubspot. Since filming this interview back in December, Sarah is now a proud mum of three- huge congratulations!
Sarah shares some great learnings that she has gathered through both her career, personal life and through the pandemic.
Lesson 1: You need to own your weaknesses and your strengths. Sarah shares that she struggles with reading and doesn’t really enjoy it. She was very open with her colleagues about this, so they decided to send her videos instead of long dialogue. By being open and honest, your colleagues can be more understanding and accommodating to your skills.
Lesson 2: Through the pandemic, Sarah realised she doesn’t need to be sitting beside someone to build a strong relationship. Once you have clear communication and make time for someone, there’s no reason why you shouldn’t be able to build a strong relationship.
Lesson 3: Now more than ever, it’s important to be accommodating and understanding of your colleagues lives outside of work. Make sure you check in on your colleagues to make sure they’re doing okay and if they need any help.
